A: Firstly, I do believe you might have the dampening link filter a little confused. Based on the dampening link filter concept, your links are observed and acquiesced by Google, you simply do not obtain the full benefit from them until certain period of time has elapsed. The dampening link filter (if it exists) doesn't end links from appearing in Google's benefits when you look for them. (The only reason your backlinks mightn't come in a Google search is if Google hasn't yet found the pages containing the links.) Also, do not worry too much about things such as the dampening link filter. For a start, it is not even close to proven / acknowledged fact. Many well-regarded Search Engine Optimization professionals don't have confidence in it in any way. Furthermore, even when it does exist, it only affects those firms with the budget to create the large numbers (hundreds or thousands probably) of links reputedly required to induce it. That is no issue, if your number of backlinks suddenly increases by 2-0.
And secondly, don't feel every thing Google tells you. By trying to find 'link:www.betheladventure.co.uk', you broadly speaking only view a small proportion of real links to your website. The easiest way to search for links will be to search for just the URL 'www.bethaladventure.co.uk', then on the page that displays next, select 'Find webpages that contain the word 'www.bethaladventure.co.uk' .' When you do it in this manner, you'll see most of the pages that contain your URL. Generally, the URL is going to be a dynamic link (or at least it should be, and you should keep these things make it so). Once you try this research, you'll see that your website has about 169 links, perhaps not 2-3.
Q: Yet another question is approximately listed pages (using site:www.betheladventure.co.uk). I am aware it is a report of pages which have been changed. A: The number of indexed pages is simply the number of pages in your website that Google 'is aware of.' Theoretically, the only time age a page is needed is if the page is too young*, i.e. Google lions haven't visited it yet, or Google hasn't updated its catalog. Why the reported number of indexed pages is reducing, I suspect it's only a temporary shift. How many results in Google's searches differs virtually constantly.
*Actually, technically speaking, it's been suggested that Google isn't capable of indexing all 11.5 million pages currently thought to be online (and the 10 million more that are added everyday), and that as it indexes new pages, old pages are sent out from the list. (This is an extremely rough description of the idea - if it's happening at all, it is likely to be a lot more difficult than this.)
