Hills
There are numerous great mountain ranges in Morocco on which it is possible to climb, hike, ski or ride mules. The amazing variety of vegetation, natural water features and mountain peaks is fascinating.
The mountains tend to be heavily wooded, with firs and cedars on the higher mountains. In winter most of the mountains are covered in snow. Many mountain animals live here, including the unusual Atalas monkey, along with a large variety of migratory birds and birds of prey, such as eagles. There's a big bird reserve where in fact the Moulouya river flows into the Mediterranean sea located.

Atlas Mountains: Filling a lot of the northwestern corner of Africa, the Atlas are divided into 5 areas stretching from Morocco, through northern Algeria and holding Tunisia.
Morocco has the Middle Atlas, High Atlas and Anti Atlas. The High Atlas is the greatest range, with Jabal Toubkal extending to 4,165 yards. Waters
Morocco has got the most extensive water system in North Africa. Their rivers usually flow northwest for the Atlantic or southeast towards the Sahara Desert. The major rivers of Morocco are the Moulouya working into the Mediterranean, and the Sebou which goes into the Atlantic.
Deserts
Towards the south and east lies the Sahara Desert. The Sahara will be the world's largest desert and in Arabic its name means 'wilderness.' The Sahara doesn't fit the standard idea of a totally flat and waterless place. You will find streams in-the hills and the desert oases assist both human and animal life.
Flowers in the desert region survive with little water; some have very deep roots, the others have tiny leaves or spines.
