Paypal Users: Do not Get Found By Phishers

Here is the link shown in the email I received.

There's an increasing trend in Paypal phishing scams. Browse here at https://instagram.com/swellmarketing1 to discover the inner workings of it. The latest Paypal spoof I received warns me that my Paypal bill is suspended. I-t requires me to recover full access to my account by logging directly into Paypal. Visit instagram to research where to see it. I'm delivered to a web site that looks exactly like the PayPal login page, when I click on the link provided in the email. But the link doesn't head to Paypal.

This is the link displayed in the e-mail I received.

It actually takes you into a phisers site when you go through the link.

It's usually not recommended to click on links within an mail. To study more, please consider peeping at: https://www.instagram.com/swellmarketing1. Be sure that you are signing in to the Paypal website by looking at the address area part of your browser, if you do.

Contact your bank or creditors immediately to stop identity theft, for those who have already responded to the fraudulent email. If you wish to check on your Paypal bill position, personally kind PayPal's address into your browser and join normally.

I was able to tell that it was a spoof email because the email started with Dear PayPal member.' Paypal will often address you by your first and last name. They'll never send an email to you and handle you as Dear PayPal member or such. Go There includes more about the meaning behind this view.

Still another way to tell if an email is from Paypal would be to look at the full header. The email header is the indication of if the email is from Paypal or-not. When looking at the header it will say who sent the email in the initial two lines. Example in the latest spoof e-mail I received it originated from

Return-Path: lester@server.ravin.net

Received: from http://server.ravin.net

If it doesnt say that it passed through Paypals server, you then know the email is just a spoof. The FBI is actively investigating these spoofs, therefore please report any suspicious messages by sending them to spoof@paypal.com. You can even file a complaint with the Net Fraud Complaint Center at http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/strategy/howtofile.asp..
