Dear friends,
The new album, the new album. Everyday. That is my life right now, and I'm working hard to make the July 15th deadline. I promised the people at Sony that on July 15th they would have the master tape in their hands, completed! Of course, by the time we shoot the music videos, posters and distribute the CD's, it'll be well into August until you will all be able to hear and see the new songs. Wow, August, that so soon! I really can't wait! I've been putting so much love, sweat and tears into this album, and it's really been a great experience. However, still got a ways to go before it’s done.
As far as my personal life... well, I hate to say it, but this month I've kind of turned into a complete nerd, I mean, I never went out with friends or ANYTHING! I did go to Beijing and Taipei, for some press conferences concerning my newest commercial with the cosmetics company, Avon. If you haven't seen the TV commercial already, I am walking around the streets of Tokyo with a digital camera, filming a beautiful, angelic Japanese girl. Not that I have a habit of stalking random women in the streets, but during the course of commercial, we learn that this girl uses Avon products, hence the “angel” face.
I also produced the music for this commercial, which is a section of one of the songs on my new album. It is a piece that, like the commercial, it ethereal, and beautifully mysterious. Hope you guys like it.
Well, that's all for now, got to go back to recording. I live here in my studio (Homeboy Studios), so it makes it convenient to get up in the mornings and go to work. The drawback of that on the other hand, is that I can go for days without ever stepping outside. What? What outside world?
