During my visit at See's candy this morning, my initial intention was to take a look. I sauntered by the counter when my eyes were drawn toward the candies. As a recovering chocolate-holic, I really was not interested in buying any. However, as I yielded to temptation, I focused on the healthy ones—you know, the ones with cookies intead of whole rich chocolate, and such. So I asked if they had any crumbs or samples I could taste.
The sweet young lady serving me was kind and unusually patient as she mused over my obvious buy-dont-buy dilemma. Instead of crumbs, she simply gave me whole pieces of candy to taste. She then suggested the luscious (and expensive) chocolate chip cookies beside them—she said they were really good. Proudly, I refused.
But somehow she seemed to notice a twinge of doubt in my refusal, so she asked again. Again, I refused. Do U Know How Much I Wanted To Try that chocolate chip cookie? But in fact I returned home with some chocolates:) How can an ordinary human being resist the temptation of rich, flavorfully assorted chocolate?
