I just got myself push to the limit!!!
A college grad fresh outta school (22-yr-old) bitched about her pay for the longest time to me and asked me for advices for as long as I was sitting next to her, and for as much time as I spent working my ass off to make my half million quota every month which was more than 3 times as much as hers, she got a much-more-than-expected-and-asked raise to 40k base salary excluding bonus and commission. How could this happen???? She's only worked here for 6 months and now getting paid as much as those who've worked for 3 years or more, and I was the one that told her what to do and what to say. I was getting way underpaid for 2 years and now I got it, how could a company hit a billion dollar revenue was to rip their employees off by offering no benefit, no vacation and little pay to foreign national who care too much about visa status and don't dare to ask for what they deserve. Now I came to think of that, I contributed at least a big percentage of that billion dollar mark and then the benefit all go to those who SPEAK UP AND BITCH.
This is just ridiculous. I have just decided I wasn't going to take this laying down. I have a big house mortgage due every month for God's sake, and I'm generating way too much profit for the company to pay for those suckers. This aint right!!! Anything less than $55k is just not acceptable.
So I started talking to this company I met at CES show. I had a great time talking to them and I enjoy their office atmosphere and business philosophy very much. Hell, now we are talking about fringe benefit, there are 401k dollar-to-dollar match up to 6%, vacation, sick leave, profit sharing and ALL NATIONAL HOLIDAYS!!!! Sounds unbelivable to me yet totally normal to others!
But hell, the HQ is in Torrance, Los Angeles and VP rather recruites me in LA, and I JUST BOUGHT A DAMN HOUSE UP HERE IN SJ!!! What a timing!
Life is all bout choices and timing, isnt it?
