7am got woken up by Jen it wasn't pleasant but I held my temper and asked what's up. "my water broke, I'm in the hospital now!!!!" I snapped to awake and all of a sudden sleeping was the last thing I cared. By 2pm, she successfully gave birth and called me the first to tell me this amazing news. ( I wondered, are you not supposed to use cell phone in the hospital faciliy?? anyway, figured pregnant patients are the boss) I went to visit her after work, excited to see the baby. He was so small, like a little monkey!!! but he's got lots of hair. Allen said that he saw the baby coming out from the birth canal, the head looked like a cone, the doc had to "mold" it to the right shape. I couldn't help but wonder, can I have it shaped the way I want??? um.... didn't say that to Allen, he'd probably think I was nuts.
Went to pick up an outta town friend in SFO on the way to dinner in the city, cell phone corresponding for 1 hour and turned out he was @ Oakland airport (no wonder there's no terminal 3) arggggg, frustrated but then replaced by a big laugh. Well, after all we were tired and hungry, all we could think of was the delicious meal @ A16.
Heard so much about A16 and yet never paid a visit there. I used to think that was a bar cuz the entrance was small and narrow, and didn't look like a restaurant. It is actually very long and deep inside, atmosphere is great, wine list is absolutely impressive. Bean and dandelion soup tasted like Chinese salty soybean milk, but our entree definitely made up for it. I ordered pork breast (frankly it tastes like ordinary Chinese-style lean-fat pork, except Italian prepare it with delicacy, see pix) and he got Alaskan halibut, both were good. Dinner started late and ended early, my guest came down with a bad flu so we decided to call it a nite. After all, it was a pleasant evening:)
