Jesus: Jesus (8–2 BC/BCE to 29–36 AD/CE), is the central figure of
Christianity. Christian views of Jesus center on the belief that Jesus is the Messiah as promised in the Old Testament and that he was resurrected after he died on a cross. Christians typically believe Jesus is the Son of God, and that he was sent by God to provide salvation and reconciliation with God by atoning for the sins of humanity by his death. Trinitarian Christians (the majority) believe that Jesus is God incarnate, while Nontrinitarian Christians profess various other interpretations regarding his divinity.

Paul: He was the second most prolific contributor to the New Testament, after Luke the Evangelist. Fourteen letters are attributed to him, with varying degrees of confidence. These contain the earliest systematic account of Christian doctrine, and provide information on the life of the infant Church. His letters are arguably the oldest part of the New Testament.
