國會眾議員孟昭文14日致信美國交通部部長趙小
網路熱銷產品熱銷產品蘭(Elaine Chao)，提出拉瓜地亞機場(LaGuardia Airport)的飛機噪音對紐約皇后區居民的健康有害，應盡快消除。
孟昭文在信內指出，最新一期「國際環境研究與公共衛生雜誌」中刊登的「優化飛行模式與人體健康之間的權衡」研究，發現美國聯邦航空總署(FAA)自2012年實施的新航線「TNNIS Climb」，產生了極大且極為頻繁的飛機噪音，影響皇后區居民生活並危害健康。
孟昭文表示，皇后區的11個社區中，有七個深受飛機噪音影響，甚至加大了紐約市民的殘疾率及死亡率，「飛機噪音正在傷害市民們的健康，更在剝奪市民的生命，這是一個不容忽視並亟待解決的問題」。
孟昭文在信中要求美國交通部檢查「TNNIS Climb」航線的使用，並且減少使用；她還表示，要公布美國聯邦航空總署及相關部門的研究結果，促進對此議題的討論，盡快得出解決方案。
孟昭文7月提出了「2018飛機噪音研究及減弱噪音法案」(Airplane Noise Research and Mitigation Act of 2018)，其中包括對於飛機噪音的相關研究；她表示，飛機噪音會傷害皇后區居民的身體健康，並降低生活質量，必須要盡快消除。
