美國國務卿凱瑞(John Kerry)30日表示，美國和俄羅斯即將舉行一場軍事會議，以避免在敘利亞的衝突。
凱瑞是在結束和俄羅斯外長拉夫羅夫(Sergei Lavrov)的會談後，發表上述談話。在拉夫羅夫的陪同下，凱瑞表示，「我們同意這是勢在必行，儘快─或許甚至可能就是明天，儘快地舉行一場軍對軍的消弭衝突會談。」
俄羅斯國防部發言人科納申科夫(Igor Konashenkov)30日稍早證實，俄方已對敘利亞境內的伊斯蘭國(IS)好戰份子目標發動空襲行動。
不過美國高層官員踢爆，俄羅斯在敘利亞的空中攻擊行動，似乎並未瞄準伊斯蘭國激進團體，而是指向與敘利亞總統巴夏爾(Bashar al-Assad)對戰的反抗勢力團體。
