市民遊行促政府正視紅火蟻

鑑於紅火蟻可能威脅到元朗、大嶼山乃至市區的居民，香港社區發展網絡今早發起遊行，促請當局正視此問題，盡快消滅紅火蟻。

As red fire ants are menacing Hong Kong, HK Community Development Network stages a match this morning to appeal for the government to face the problem and eliminate the lethal insects as soon as possible.

社區網絡主席龍緯汶表示，紅火蟻不但可致命，美國過去亦曾發生紅火蟻咬斷電纜造成大停電的事故，所以政府必須加以正視。

Network's Chairman James Lung indicates that red fire ants may also cause massive power cut, therefore it should be taken seriously.

示威者向政府代表遞交請願信，要求當局改善檢疫制度，並加強中港兩地有關紅火蟻的通報機制，以及教育市民有關防蟻滅蟻的措施。

Demonstrators' plea includes refining the quarantine system and cultivating the communication between HK and the mainland on health issues.
