Many
people fall hard into the belief that glasses hinder their beauty. They fall
into the propaganda that glasses make them look nerdy, ugly, or less
photogenic.
And
we’re here to tell you that is absolutely true.
If
you’re wearing the wrong glasses.
Yes bamboo frames eyeglasses, if
you’re wearing your grandfather’s frames that he bought when he was your age,
you may want to consider the cosmetic appeal of your specs.
However,
glasses that are picked out just for you are actually incredibly fashionable and
make a powerful statement.
Glasses
can be glamorous.
We’re
not sure when glasses got a bad rep, but since their invention glasses have
symbolized intelligence and sophistication. Think about it. That’s the stigma,
isn’t it?
Glasses
= Nerds. Nerds = Smart. Glasses = Smart.
And
I’ve asked this question over and over again, who doesn’t want to be perceived
as being intelligent? And since when is intelligence not sexy?
I
dare you to find me one dating website profile that says, “Hi, I am looking for
someone attractive, funny, and just as dumb as a spoon.”
Everyone
wants to be intelligent, looks for others to surround themselves with that are
intelligent and yet, we’re ashamed of something that is correlated with – that
makes us look – intelligent?
That’s
my little rant on that. Moving on.
Pick
a Frame That Fits Your Face
The
first step of looking attractive in your glasses is picking a frame that fits
your face. You want something that compliments your face shape, your complexion,
and accentuates your features.
Choose
a Thinner Lens and Anti-Reflective Coating
Secondly,
get a thin lens with anti-reflective coating. Most people hate wearing glasses
in pictures because of the awful glare the camera flash creates. Not only are
thin lenses more comfortable, but AR- coating makes your lens seem less
apparent. (Not to mention, AR coating also reduces glare and as a result eye
strain.)
Find
Eyeglasses That Represent You
Thirdly,
find eyeglasses that best represent you. Whether you buy one pair or multiple
pairs, make sure your eyeglasses represent you and make the statement that you
want them to make. Glasses, like any other accessory, shouldn’t wear you. You
should wear the glasses. Confidence is key and wearing something you love and
you know you look good in gives way to that confidence. Whether you’re wearing a
bold, funky frame or sleek business chic, you’ve got to let your personality
shine through and own, not just your glasses, but your entire look.
