Simon Pig has the perfect plan to make Sally Goose do all this work.

"Let's play Simon Says!" he says to her.

"You do whatever Simon Says." Soon poor Sally is rushing round planting carrots,

making a scarecrow and even clipping Simon's nails.

But when it's finally Sally's turn to play,

she thinks of a great way to get her own back....

Simon Say!是一位"拉丁人"(Latin)發明的遊戲，流傳至今，有沒有玩過"老師說"，老師說:「坐下」、老師說:「拍手」，當講到"老師說"，我們就要跟著口令做動作，跟Simon Say!是一樣的遊戲。此書利用我們常玩的遊戲，看似很累的工作，卻讓Simon Pig，將遊戲發揮到極至。而Sally Goose卻累到身心俱疲，差點來不及參加巨大甜瓜比賽。

Simon Pig was digging in his garden when along came Saly Goose,

on her way to the Giant Melon Fair.

"Ooh! Ouch! This is hard work!" grumbled Simon.

"Why don't you make a game of it?"

asked Sally Goose."Then it will be fun!"

"Good idea!" cried Simon. " Let's play Simon Says!"

You do whatever Simon Says. But when I say "Sally Says", you must stand still.

If you don't, you're out!" said Simon.

"That's easy!" said Sally Goose.

此遊戲最後被Simon Pig搞到像是惡整Sally Goose，把他當傭人使喚，連喝杯水喘口氣的時間都不被允許，最後Sally Goose利用智慧讓Simon Pig為他背甜瓜去參市集的比賽，完成Sally Goose的心願。從此書可以看出遊戲是一體二面的，但希望遊戲的意義是矯正大過於負面才是具有教育、建設性的遊戲。
