王建民先發戰爭的主要對手--Jaret Wright前幾天傳出背抽筋的消息，Wright美國時間周四在洋基訓練基地做了10分鐘的傳接球，預計於周六在牛棚裡正式練投，若一切良好，Wright有可能於下周二或周三安排一場先發，根據洋基官網報導，洋基開幕前兩周只需要四名先發投手，曾經擔任過救援投手的Wright有可能從牛棚裡出發，王建民以先發角色出發的情勢愈來愈明朗。

Wright doesn’t know what his role will be if he is ready to start the season on time, as the Yankees only need four starters during the first two weeks of the season. He could be moved to the bullpen, with Shawn Chacon and Chien-Ming Wang taking the two starting spots behind Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina.

"I might have been thinking about that now if my back didn’t give out for a little bit," Wright said. "Right now, all of my focus is on getting back into a game."
