昨天講到廖文毅，我想要在這裡說明：〈詳細情形請參閱拙著：《臺灣歷史全集》〉
B、臺灣共和國臨時政府正式成立及臺灣共和國臨時政府憲法：
十二月十八日，在東京ＹＭＣＡ舉行第一次第四回本會議選出：
臺灣共和國總統廖文毅博士，副總統吳振南博士。
西元一九五六年一月十五日召開第二次第一回本會議時，由總統廖文毅提名任命，政務委員及各部會首長，獲得議會的承認通過，並訂於二二八舉行就職儀式。
二月二十八日，『臺灣共和國臨時政府』在東京正式成立，由廖文毅擔任臺灣共和國總統（大統領）。此組織對臺灣獨立運動的影響，非常的深遠。
並於同時發布『臺灣民族第三次獨立宣言』。
九月一日在東京公布『臺灣共和國臨時憲法』：〈略〉
和『臺灣共和國臨時總統』並創刊『臺灣共和國臨時政府機關報一一臺灣民報』，這是廖文毅博士一生事業的巔峰。也是臺灣人稍現的短暫團結；但也招來中國國民黨及中國共產黨的重視及夾殺，國、共雙方在中國互相鬥爭、鬥法的把戲，竟然把焦點戰場轉移到日本的『臺灣共和國臨時政府』的身上。
一九五七年六月廖文毅著作發表：「臺灣民本主義」、「軍事工業論」、「臺灣之糖業」。
一個非常事業是須要有非常的資金做為後盾的，如果沒有豊沛的經濟支持下，這個非常事業是很難長久支持下去的，尤其是「政治」。
在長期的臺灣獨立運動過程中，耗時耗事又耗人更耗金錢，在沒有經濟來源下，單靠捐款，根本無法維持下去。
而國民黨更是多方面的予以鬥爭，一方面在臺灣，無理迫害海外臺獨人士的家族、親朋戚友，杜絕其財源，使海外臺獨人士面臨財務短缺的困境。
另方面國民黨特務要滲透臺獨陣營，已是不費吹灰之力，裝了一副壯志豪情和不惜犧牲的勇氣「表演」，然後再表示捐款的意願，不被接受才怪。
※依據黃昭堂（二ＯＯＯ～二ＯＯ四總統府國策顧問）的論文「日本的臺獨運動」所述，在一九五九年四月時，臨時政府就已經被“中國國民黨特務”重重包圍，團團困住，在日本臺灣人社會由於國民黨的耳語抹黑戰術，相信由國民黨散發的誹謗的人越來越多，從一九五七年前後，臨時政府的『惡評』，幾乎已遍及在日臺灣人社會了。（論文第二頁），今日在臺灣的“中國民進黨”，還是在“重蹈覆轍”。
