Yesterday,President Obama honored 13 Americans with the Presidential Medal ofFreedom, the highest honor awarded to civilians in the United Stateswho have made "an especially meritoriouscontribution to the security or national interests of the UnitedStates, world peace, cultural or other significant public or privateendeavors."
