男大生赴肯亞當志工感染瘧疾竟病危 疾管署：預防藥物僅吃1/3
高雄市一名19歲男大生，日前至非洲肯亞參與國際志工活動，但行程中服用預防性抗瘧疾藥物「奎寧」卻並未遵從醫囑，只吃完1/3療程，導致該男大生返台後不適就醫，17日被確診為感染熱帶瘧疾，現意識不清陷病危狀態；在自肯亞返台至17日確診之間，男大生曾至高雄、新竹等地活動，8月13日至15日更出國去香港，但由於港台兩地並非瘧疾疫區，疾管署研判是在肯亞被感染。
高市衛生局疾管處處長潘炤穎指出，這名居住在左營區的男大生，6月28日至8月3日至非洲肯亞參與國際志工，返台後在新竹、高雄兩地活動，13至15日更至香港旅遊。返台後出現忽熱忽冷症狀就診，經採檢體後確診為熱帶瘧原蟲感染。潘炤穎表示，該名男大生應是在肯亞遭病媒蚊叮咬後感染，因瘧疾潛伏期未立即就醫，15日才發病且病情漸嚴重，17日已確診並便住進醫學中心的加護病房，目前病危。
高市衛生局指出，瘧疾是由感染瘧原蟲的病媒蚊叮咬人類所導致，潛伏期約10多天。常見症狀發燒，頭痛、肌肉關節疼痛，若未及早治療，會出現間歇性或週期性的畏寒及顫抖、發燒及出汗，嚴重甚至導致脾腫大、黃疸、休克、肝腎衰竭、肺水腫、急性腦病變及昏迷。
疾管署副署長羅一鈞也表示，台灣已是瘧疾根除地區，但每年仍有10幾例境外移入的病例，而近5年瘧疾境外移入個案感染地，以非洲國家居多，主要檢出病原體與此案相同，為熱帶瘧疾。
高市衛生局表示，面對首例境外移入瘧疾個案，接獲通報第一時間已完成個案住家及傳播風險區病媒調查，並施掛7處捕蚊燈，目前尚無發現病媒蚊。
羅一鈞也提醒，民眾若需前往瘧疾高風險地區，需提前一個月至旅遊醫學門診諮詢，並依醫囑服用瘧疾預防藥物，不可報僥倖心理。旅遊期間更應做好防蚊措施，外出著淺色長袖衣褲，塗抹合格防蚊藥劑，以策安全。（44.8%人不滿賴清德施政表現）
