2004年的1月6日到1月16日，我去埃及玩了10天（嚴格說起來只有8天，因為有整整2天在坐飛機），寫下了我人生中非常美麗的一頁…
為什麼會去埃及？其實是一個非常偶然的機會，我參加的扶青團（註1）收到了一個國外來的訊息，有一個國際性的青年領袖營（註2），是由中東那邊的地區所主辦的，而活動地點就在埃及（註3）。
當好友咪知道這件事時，就非常興奮的跟我說，因為去埃及一直是我們兩個的夢想， 我個人對於神秘的古埃及文明一直有著莫名的憧憬，去埃及絕對是我畢生的旅遊目標之一，可是卻也一直沒打算在這麼早的時候去，記得好友S知道我決定去時還問我：「你不是說你要等埃及的書都看過後才要去嗎？」對啊，本來也是這樣想，書架上一整排的埃及書籍都在那邊吶喊著等我去翻閱他們，不過機會就是這樣，說來就來了，看了RYLA宣傳的DM（註4）後，完全被吸住不能動彈，根本就沒有思考的能力，除了2張美到不行的風景圖片，4天3夜的活動只要付75美金還住5星級飯店，活動結束後遊玩的日子每天的住宿費也只要15美金，這麼好康的事情，豈能錯過？更重要的是，年齡限制是28，再過幾個月我就要超過了耶～怎能蹉跎？所以我就毅然決然的決定去了！
在收到RYLA的Program後（註5），更加證實我作了正確的決定，因為整個活動看來實在是太有趣了～除了主題Business Stradegy（商業策略）跟我是完全沒關外，第一天晚上的國際之夜，可以欣賞到各國的舞蹈（雖然我們也要表演很吐血），第二天晚上的貝都因之夜（Bedouin Night）則是可以聽正港的中東音樂還可以抽Shisha水煙管，第三天下午是戶外活動，晚上是結業式，第四天則是整天的戶外活動，而DM裡列舉出來的戶外活動有：打水球、沙灘排球、乒乓等，光看就覺得好玩到不得了！而且每堂課程中間都有coffee break，這對小咖啡狂我來說簡直是樂翻天了～再往下看到住房設施有：Private balcony！那意思就是有美麗的view囉！這一切的一切都讓我覺得像夢境一樣～ 除了天氣資訊非常的奇怪，1月均溫白天是20°-27°C，晚上則是5°-10°C，所以我們必須準備輕薄的衣服for sunny mornings，以及溫暖的夾克for cold nights，也就是說春夏秋冬衣服皆要帶到，會不會太誇張？但是這一切都只有更加深了我對埃及與RYLA的憧憬～
這次跟我一起去埃及的總共有5個人，除了好友咪外，其他3個都是別團我不認識的人，分別是派翠克（其實她應該是派翠西亞，不過我這個人向來有亂取綽號的習慣，一定要叫自己喜歡的才高興）、凱西（她也算是我們這團的小隊長）和唯一的男生唐（他回來後可是一直自稱為3520地區最幸福的男人！）。
就這樣我們四女一男就組成了一個由台灣去的28 Group（註6）。
在出發前我們五個總共只碰過3次面，除了討論參加活動時應該做的各種事前準備以及活動結束後想去的旅遊景點外，還要練習要登場的民俗表演。因為這次去可不是出國觀光（雖然我是抱著這種心態），而是要代表台灣的扶青團去參加國際活動，所以根據他們給的流程，我們要好好規劃一下該做的功課，又活動的第一天是民俗之夜，各國人要穿他們的民俗服飾放民俗音樂跳民俗舞蹈，所以大夥在山地舞還是布袋戲中討論了許久，最後我跟咪建議一個我們兩個之前就表演過的類似扇子舞這樣的舞蹈，曲目是夜上海，又可以穿著美美的旗袍（不用赤腳綁鈴鐺），又不用重新編舞，省了很多麻煩，所以在由咪示範過一次這支舞，大家邊看邊鼓掌叫好後，就無條件通過這個決議，由我們四個女生負責表演舞蹈，而唐則負責做主持人，在兵荒馬亂的練習過2次後，大家還是跳得零零落落，本來是還想要見第4次的，不過一堆忙人實在找不出間，就兵來將擋水來土淹的1月6日在中正機場見囉～

註1：扶青團的全名是扶輪青年服務團，是由扶輪社所輔導的青年服務團（不是有錢人也可以參加喔！），各扶青團每兩個星期會聚會一次，做社區服務、職業與國際認識及自己團裡的活動，我跟咪就是參加其中的一團，而派翠克、凱西和唐各是隸屬於不同扶青團。
註2：扶輪青年領袖營，簡稱RYLA（Rotary Youth Leadership Award），是由扶輪社及扶青團舉辦的營隊，主旨是在培養青年的領導能力。此次是由2450地區埃及的扶輪社及扶青團所主辦。
註3：扶輪社在世界各地分成了500多區，是以人數密集度而不是地域大小來區分的，如台灣從北到南共有七區，我們5個所屬的是3520區，而這次RYLA主辦地區是2450地區，是由埃及（Egypt）、約旦（Jordan）、塞普勒斯（Cyprus）、巴林（Bahrain）、黎巴嫩（Lebanon）、蘇丹（Sudan）及阿拉伯聯合大公國（AUE）等七個國家共同組成的，橫跨了歐亞非三洲，是非常特殊的一個地區。

註6：因為去的個人中，4個女生都是28歲，唯一的男生小一點點，所以後來我
們在跟埃及人自我介紹時，直接就舊稱我們為「28團」--28 Group。
