第五代移動通信技術(英語：5th generation mobile networks或5th generation wireless systems，簡稱5G)是最新一代蜂窩移動通信技術，是4G(LTE-A、 WiMax)、3G(UMTS、LTE)和2G(GSM)系統後的延伸。5g 的性能目標是高數據率、商用Wifi，減少延遲、節省能源、降低成本、提高系統容量和大規模設備連接。3Gpp Release-15中的5G規范的第一階段是為了適應早期的商業部署。5G 第一個演進標准 3Gpp Release 16於2020年7月3日完成，主要新增了5G超級上行技術、完善超高可靠低延遲通信和大規模機器類互聯的場景，並進一步提升能效和用戶體驗。2021年12月高通與聯發科技發布支持Release16的基帶產品。
