維吉尼亞工學院的校園殺人案給我們很多深思！對過去曾學習犯罪心理的我更是一大衝擊！
也打斷我靜坐的思緒！
Over many
years ago I have tried to create a crime prevention center and the
first one I had shared was my professor, Henry Lee, a world famous FS
expert, he encouraged me to go for it! After married life and having my own family, this idea seems fade away. Finally
these two years I am able to contact my old time students once were
trouble youngster that I taught in Taiwan , I am able to follow up with
their current condition.
Studying killers’ mind was one of my favorite parts into this study. Why making them kill people is such mist. By
viewing Va Tech shooting via out the report from news, a possible
profile we should be focused on and many experts may have studied toward
it and it is just like a wake up call!
I once
ever argued with a very rich man’s grandson about how he disagreed with
me to even consider giving these criminals a second chance. Here today I am not going to address this issue. My whole focus right now is how we could prevent it! There were so many signs and signal from this shooter and people around him did not pick up. It amazed us who studied this field and how people can be so naive to miss those messages shooter is sending overtime.
This
Crime Prevention Center idea was on my head and my paper since 1997 and
after ten years I feel is my duty to let the world know. We could share and care to prevent crime! Since 2000 there was 911, it shocked all the American people and the whole world. Then 2003 there was shooting in DC area. Till 2007 Val Tech threw world attention back to America again! School violence should be our number one concern since school is for our kids to learn and grow. Through
our American campus shooting history there was also 2000 Columbine High
later we also knew from news these 2 teen killers was VA Tech shooter’s
idol. American gun law is very hard to crack and it will take years of debate to reach possible outcomes. The only way we can do now is prevent it by knowing how to protect ourselves.
Something
happened around my friends these past years such as stalking by a
neighbor or a teenage girl was stalking by her schoolmate after school. We
should be able to point these trouble people around us out the open,
now we have posters of those sex offenders living around our
neighborhood. We should have neighborhood watch for possible crime. The community should now open their eyes by working together as team and alarm police authority to make our community safe. The school should also monitor these trouble youngsters and provide them with strong health care system. While I was studying mental health, we have heard some program was cut down because of funding.
