出身於德州的歌手Doug Sahm，5歲就首度上廣播電台演唱，11歲時與知名的鄉村歌手Hank Williams同場作秀。1964，組成Sir Douglas Quintet樂團，1972，Doug Sahm因要出個人專輯離團，該團繼續撐了一年之後解散。

1989，Doug Sahm再與Freddy Fender、Flaco Jiménez等人組成Texas Tornados樂團。Freddy Fender在1975有兩首冠軍曲《Before the Next Teardrop Falls》、《Wasted Days and Wasted Nights》，已具有相當的知名度。Flaco Jiménez號稱是「Conjunto音樂之父」，1986即以其手風琴音樂奪得一座葛萊美獎 ( 後又得到兩座及終身成就獎 )。Texas Tornados於1990推出了與樂團同名的專輯 ，此首《Who Were You Thinking Of》即為收錄於該專輯中之歌曲。

歌曲的主題有些鹹濕，屬「成人」議題。歌曲主角疑惑昨晚愛愛時，對方腦中所想的是帥帥的陌生人還是自己的好友？原因是又再見到對方臉上，已有一陣子沒出現的那種快樂笑意 ( 表情？) 了。愛愛時藉由性幻想來助興，應該是有些人也會做的事吧！
