一首歌曲成功後，不只是演唱者，連寫歌者也因豐厚的版稅及權利金而跟著名利雙收。此首《Welcome To My World》掛名的作者為Ray Winkler與John Hathcock，但一般咸信，真正的作曲者為Eddie McDuff，而非Ray Winkler，結果是Eddie McDuff並未拿到錢。尤其是Eddie McDuff在1968搭機空難意外身亡 ( 32歲 )，寡妻帶著四個年幼小孩，生活拮据，而Ray Winkler卻買新宅，讓有些人看不太下去。( 而據說，當時是Winkler找上了McDuff來替此首歌譜曲，並願意付10美元的酬勞，至於McDuff有無收這10美元則是已無從查考。)


Eddie McDuff

此曲有多位歌手錄製發行，而最知名為Jim Reeves 的版本 ( 1963 )，在鄉村榜拿下了第2名，另在英國單曲排行榜則是第6名。歌詞中的一段 ( Knock and the door will……，Ask and you will…… ) 係擷取自 Matthew ( 馬太福音 ) 7：7 - 8。隔年 ( 1964 )，Jim Reeves自駕飛機身亡，去到了上帝的世界。雖然和此曲無關，但還是讓人有些怪怪的聯想。
