2002，美國歌手兼詞曲作家Guy Clark出了一張《The Dark》專輯，除了其中的一首，其餘歌曲均為與他人所合寫，此首與Shawn Camp合作的《Magnolia Wind》亦包含其中。難能可貴的是，自1983發行的專輯之後，睽違了近20年，此張專輯終於再度入榜。

Guy Clark擅長以現代的歌曲來說故事，紐約時報曾形容他是「a king of the Texas troubadours / 德州的吟遊詩人之王 (？)」。Magnolia是木蘭屬的植物，此處應可譯為木蘭花 ( 台灣亦有栽種，常見的玉蘭花同為此屬 )。歌曲大意是說，若失去了身旁的愛人，對一切的事物都變得無意義與不在乎，寧可如何如何......，和在愛情中的情況形成了強烈對比，頗令人感傷，算是一首還不錯的自我告白情歌。

2012，在Guy Clark的70歲生日時，近30位好友分別詮釋了他的歌曲，合出了一張《This One's For Him：A Tribute To Guy Clark》專輯，來向他致敬。而其中的這首《Magnolia Wind》則是由Emmylou Harris & John Prine合唱 ( 為以下所貼之影音版本 )。

老外好像常喜歡搞這一套：開演唱會並唱資深歌手的歌來向其致敬。大家歡聚一堂倒還沒什麼，但出唱片則感覺有點怪怪的。以東方人的想法，出這種合輯，通常是「懷念」、「紀念」的性質。如此，會不會有點觸當事人的霉頭？( 哈哈，可能是台長想太多了。 ) 事實上，Guy Clark在2014還獲得了一座最佳民謠專輯的葛萊美獎。不過，當時他的健康狀況已不甚佳，2016，終於不敵長期罹患的淋巴癌而辭世，享年74歲。

慢慢地才發現，藍草(Bluegrass)音樂亦有其特殊魅力，有些的確是還不錯聽，無怪乎迄今不衰。
