此曲為美國歌手兼詞曲作家及音樂製作人Delaney Bramlett所寫，並由自己的樂團Delaney & Bonnie &Friends錄唱 ( Delaney和Bonnie曾為夫妻 )，收錄在其1971的專輯《Motel Shot》中。在60年代後期，Delaney Bramlett曾和英國吉他手Eric Clapton一起巡迴作秀，後來也參與Eric Clapton一些專輯的吉他伴奏或編曲及製作等。披頭合唱團的主奏吉他手George Harrison與Eric Clapton是為好友，也因此與Delaney Bramlett熟識，Delaney Bramlett還教George Harrison彈滑音吉他 ( Slide Guitar )，也導致George Harrison後來創作出那首《My Sweet Lord》。

Delaney & Bonnie的版本，1971在告示牌熱門榜達到了第13名，也立刻成為廣受喜愛翻唱的歌曲。英國樂團The New Seekers ( 註 ) 的版本，分別在英國和愛爾蘭排行榜奪得了第2及第1名，也是打開The New Seekers知名度的成名曲。1972，The New Seekers還代表英國參加「歐洲音樂大賽」，成績為第2名。

(註)：從The New Seekers的團名來看，就知和The Seekers有關，The Seekers是成立於1962的一支澳洲民謠流行樂團，其最具知名的代表作為《I'll Never Find Another You》，樂團一度於1968解散，成員之一的Keith Potger於1969另組以英國為主要發展地區的The New Seekers。
