說起灰狼Lobo這位美國歌手，年輕朋友可能並不熟悉，也難怪啦！他老兄在美國流行音樂界也算不上是什麼大牌歌星，但當年在台灣卻是紅得可以。究其因，這和西洋音樂DJ前輩余光先生可能有些關係，也可以說是余先生「慧眼識英雄」啦！常在節目中介紹他的歌。不過，70年代聽西洋歌曲的眾歌友們幾乎都喜歡灰狼的歌，倒應該是個不爭的事實。

Lobo原名Roland Kent LaVoie，其實他出道甚早 (1961)，先後參加過幾個熱門合唱團，但都沒什麼表現。直至1971年改名灰狼後，推出首張個人單曲《Me and You and a Dog Named Boo》即打入美國排行榜第4名，也獲得銷售量超過百萬張的金唱片，算是他的成名曲。緊接著1972也有兩首進入前10名的歌曲 (《I'd Love You to Want Me》/ # 2、《Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend》/ # 8 )，再來雖然也有不少進榜歌曲，但已是每下愈況了。

很奇怪，這首台灣老歌友們非常喜歡的《Stoney》，竟然查無資料。我認為應該也是1973年左右的歌，或許是當年未收錄在美國的專輯中，而只有在海外版發行之故。
