對於當年喜歡西洋歌曲的人來說，幾乎人人都能唱上幾句《Sad Movies》。

這首歌的內容是述說女孩約男友看電影，男友推說要工作，她就自己去了。才在播新聞片時，卻看到男友帶著她最要好的朋友一起進來，並坐在她的前排，當看到男友吻她的朋友時，她傷心欲絕的開始哭了。回到家，母親看到她的眼淚問說：怎麼啦？為了怕被再追問，只好說：看悲劇的電影都會讓我哭。

每次聽這首歌，歌詞中的情景也會像電影般，活生生的在我心中上演，再加上演唱者Sue Thompson（蘇 湯普生）像小女孩般的歌喉，更是讓人覺得不忍。

這首歌在1961推出，雖然只得到排行榜的第五名，但卻是六O年代初期的老歌之中，最受人喜愛的幾首之一，也是首歷久不衰的經典老歌。
