Each night the sunflower drops its yellow head in sadness as it watches the sun dip behind the horizon. The source of its life and joy is the light that radiates from the sun. As the sun rises in the morning and spreads its joy across the earth, the little sunflower perks ups its head to gaze and follow that light throughout the day.
We are as the sunflower. When the rays of the Son's light are hidden from our souls, then we, too, hang our heads in sorrow and sadness. But when we follow the light of the Son of God, the source of our life, we are filled with sunshine and radiate with joy beyond comparison.
