The Future Queen Of Pop, Being On The Road. Sammi Cheng is now to spand the time to talk about music and her amazing success. Sammi, great to have you. You've been called "The Future Queen of Pop". Are you starting to feel presure to keep climbing the ladder after your success?
Sammi (以下簡稱S): I think it's no presure for me because I think emmm... what I very need to do is to emmm... play more good music and present my good things to those audience. And besides all these things, I really enjoy during the concerts. I hope my third concert will be hold in October.
C: All right. Sammi, one thing but it seems many Asian stars have to do, is not only sing but to be able to act and be able to perform in many other ways. Do you have to start expanding your skills?
S: Well, between acting and singing, I really do prefer... I like singing most. Because when I was on the stage, I got my fully confidence to control all the things. But it doesn't mean that I am not interested in acting. (But) in acting, I think you need more team spirit, and you have to have the good communicate to your partner. So I think if I really want to develop in movie, I think I need to put more time.
C: Who are your music influenced? When you put together your music, what's the style is you looking for?
S: Actually, I am just doing the song which I think it is a good song then I will do it, if I think the song is good. I also discuss with my producers, and they always give me so many, so many comments about the music. And we have to very alert about the change of music and the taste of music. Actually, I enjoy doing that music.
C: Now, I was reading the that your idol in the west is Madonna. Madonna is famouse for changing her looks all the time. I heard you like changing your looks all the time too.
S: Yes, I think emmm... I think image styling is quite important for a artise especially in Hongkong. Because Hongkong is a very special market. I think, as a singer, I think you need to create more ???(3:00) to those audience. And somedays when the fans to want to dress like you or want to behave like you. I think you are very success(ful). But one thing I also... I think it is very important that you have to bring out good message and bring out good attitue coz mostly my fans are very young so you have to teach them.
C: In that comment you said your fans were young. What dangerous there the fans always looking for a new and fresh face. And it's very difficult to a star to stay on top.
S: I think the most important point is product your song. Because I am a singer, you have to develop different kind of songs. Emmm... Because I think, I am also a good entertainer on the stage, because I got a lot of dance songs and very up beat songs. So when I perform on the stage, I think it is easily to attrack those young guys. Mmm, mmm hum, that's it.
C: Following up a little bit said about acting here, question for you is obvious which taking parting in internet discussion. On the chatroom they said, "Is Sammi going to act in any movies?" Are you going to act in any movies?
S: Well, may be, may be. I think the first priority I will choose, I will choose the movie is about love story. I like love story. Besides that, ... and actually some producers try to find me to act in some acting movies. But I think I can't handle it althought I like dancing but I think it is a little bit different from Chinese Kong-fu. So I just rejected

C: So the question is basical, Sammi, do you intent to expand outside of Hongkong to Asian market and try to go more global?
S: Well, mmm, besides Hongkong market, I think Japan is a good place for artise to develop their singing career. Actually I got one song with All-4-One last year. The song's name is "I Cross My Heart". I think it is a good start for me. Because this very difficult operation I think English is very very very important, so I got to learn. hehe~
C: Jessica on the line from Taiwan with the question.
Jessica: Sammi, I like to ask you about what do you think about Paparazzi(狗仔队) report about your private life, especially Hongkong Paparazzi.
C: It's about Paparazzi.
S: Well, mmm, I don't like it, haha, honestly, I don't like it. But I know that is the trend. And I think the trend is changing very fast. Maybe the audiences like to see this news. But I do know maybe some audiences or maybe some fans very don't want to see this, some kinds of bad news about their idol. So I hope the trend will change very soon.
C: A question here from our Internet chatroom from Germany. And here says "Is there specail Asian style of pop music? Much of the Asian pop music seems to be entertainting western pop music."
S: Actually I think that is not the most important point about what you say. Because I think music is like a ball - it's round - emm, some people like this, some people like that; you can do this and the other people can do that. So I think it is not the problem of how you copy or is it copy. Just I think when you are doing music, you just do the good music. That's very good.

S: Mmm, I think, because most of my fans are very young, I think we need to bring out the good message for them, coz when we are doing some music, we have to control our behavior. Because you are the idol of those young guys, so you have to bring out good attitude to them.
C: We see in our questions the theme come up western style, western music and so on. Do you like many Asian stars have desire to breaking to the western scene intensive Hollywood perhaps the western music scene?
S: I think most of the actor, or actress, or singer, they really want to develop their careers in other countries. Like Hongkong, we have famous actors, Jackie Chan, and Chow Yun-Fat, like these guys, I think in the future, we get more chances to develop in other countries, but I do want to have this chance and I think actually Asia is really a good market.
