Probably the most useful thing you learn at school is to write an essay. Essays assist you to arrange your thinking. An essay helps you persuade people. Your
feedback in a house study program will mainly be essays. This will encourage you to publish an excellent article.
Many years ago I read about Electronics, and took a correspondence course on the issue, and made electric gadgets for where I worked.
Then I made a decision to study Electronics at college. Unfortunately the nearest I possibly could reach it had been Physics with Electronics since the main issue, so I qualified in Physics.
The lecturers were surprisingly out of date. Among my friends and I spent a lot of time training the lecturers. We'd learned modern stuff from books and practical use.
It's been said 'People who can, do. Individuals who can not, teach.' What this signifies is that lecturers sat through lectures and passed exams. They continue to show what they learned in these classes - which is already outdated. That is the first benefit of home study.

You'll have realized that while I realized more from my home study course, I still did a four-year course at school. I could not get recognised exam certificates from correspondence courses. Which was the key advantage.

In the home you do not have a chemistry laboratory or a machine shop or volunteers to apply dentistry.
Apprenticeships enable you to find out about true to life from an employer. Schools and universities have labs and workshops for you yourself to do your practical work.
Lecturers do not know as much about practical work as a company would. I hated doing chemical titrations since they got such a very long time.

My lecturer yelled a warning, when I was planning to hold a chunk of steel with a cloth wrapped round my hand to offer me extra grip. That likely kept me from losing my hand.
You may learn faster with instant feedback from the lecturer strolling around behind the students, even though you are learning some thing safe like oil painting.
Oh, you could have a digital picture of your oil painting and shoot it down the line to a trainer, but if she is on the other side of the world she could be having dinner, or even be asleep. So you still will not have instant feedback.

I do not think I may have overcome these distractions. If you do home study you don't have any distractions.

I favor home study anytime that it's available. Nevertheless you can't learn to sing, or karate, or dentistry with no teacher, so conventional study is frequently required to supplement home study. Essay writing is particularly of good use in home study..
