U2《ONE》反覆唱著『We are one, but we’re not the same. We get to carry each other, carry each other. One…』的歌詞，有「我們雖是生命共同體，但我們並不需要消滅彼此之間的個體差異，成為齊頭平等、強迫同化的單一表象存在，我們可以在尊重對方主體性的前提下互相照應」的深刻意涵，不必為了追求表面上的和諧要求誰「犧牲小我、成全大我」，從男女情愛延伸到跨越性別、種族、膚色、宗教、黨派、國籍藩籬的「世界大同」理念，充滿了人道關懷的大愛精神。一九七六、回聲、熊寶貝及橙草樂團來自獨立音樂圈，雖然沒有主流唱片公司龐大的資源，在選舉前也有著不盡相同的政治立場，卻因為出於同樣的理念，希望能夠藉由【WE ARE ONE!】這場聯合演唱會的契機，發揮用音樂傳播理念的影響力，對廣大樂迷們宣揚「愛與和平」的呼籲，期許台灣社會能夠進入和解共生的階段，化解對公眾事務的冷漠，重建「公民社會」「公民參與」的熱情，用更多元開放的心胸為時代開創新局。
