Two torch bearers arrive in Athens

Two of the torch bearers for the Beijing Olympics, environmental expert Liu Hongliang and Taiwan pop song singer, Wang Lee Hom have arrived in Athens. They are the final two Chinese torch bearers to arrive ahead of the Olympic flame relay.
76-year old Liu Hongliang is not only an environmental expert, but also the son of Liu Changchun, China’s first athlete to take part in the Olympics. Liu Hongliang says he’s excited to be a torchbearer and get the chance to see the lighting ceremony. Lee Hom Wang says he’s also eagerly looking forward to the event.
Wang Lee Hom said ”We are fully prepared for the lighting ceremony and we put on our sports outfits and shoes. I cut my hair short and shaved my moustache. Light the passion, pass the dream from Olympia!”

On the first day of the Greek leg of the torch relay, two Chinese torch bearers were selected for their work to protect the environment.
Wang Lee-hom is a pop singer. He was picked because of his efforts in bringing attention to environmental concerns. He was waiting for the handover from Liu Hongliang, an environmental expert with the Chinese Academy of Engineering. They said their torch relay realized their dreams.
Chinese singer Wang Lee-hom said, ”The most precious of the Olympic Games is to unite the dreams of the people from all around the world. Everybody has a dream. I have a dream and so do you. Through the Olympics, our dream are united together.”
Liu Hongliang, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, said, ”It realized my complex. My father was the first Chinese who participated the tenth Olympic Games. Today I came. I hope my next generation could pass the spirit of the Olympic Games with the scared flame.”
