請勿謀殺圖書館──寫信聲援遠東圖書館

■事件本末

一九八六年瑞典成立的遠東圖書館，漢學研究的藏書豐富，也是歐洲最重要的紅學藏書館。然而荒謬的是，瑞典政府要求文化機構按照市價付房租，包括遠東圖書館在內的三大博物館付不起高價房租，被迫裁員，十個人減為兩個人，留下來的館員並沒有圖書館工作的經歷，無法正常運作。更離奇的是，遠東圖書館鑲上玻璃櫃，上鎖，噴上『經、史、子、集』等大字，用來吸引中國觀光客，十萬冊藏書變成百貨公司櫥窗裡的陳設商品。

諾貝爾文學獎評審、國際知名漢學家馬悅然看不過去，今年九月在《瑞典日報》發表專文，抨擊政府政策失當。他的妻子陳文芬除了在台灣媒體披露此事，並寄發資料給朋友，希望各界聲援遠東圖書館，寫信給瑞典總理。「我們急需台灣的朋友寫信給瑞典總理與文化部！瑞典的抗議行動非常吃力，最新的情況是文化部長完全挺哥德堡館長，一點也不管知識份子的聲音，大家覺得來自亞洲的聲音能產生力量．．」信件中這麼說。
■陳文芬的信件

親愛的朋友：
最近一個月馬悅然每一天在書房的工作就是為挽救遠東圖書館與博物館而努力！來信附上馬悅然投書給《瑞典日報》的文章《向中國乞討保護文物的錢》。

瑞典政府與文化部至今不改變其政策，圖書館與博物館的文物是漢學家的天堂，卻在不當的房價政策裡，所屬『世界文化博物館』，簡稱SMVK，積欠政府房錢，導致縮編專業圖書館人員，同樣的問題發生在人類博物館與地中海地區博物館。

請您也加入挽救遠東圖書館行動。請寫英文信給瑞典總理、文化部與哥德堡世界文化博物館，表達您的聲音與意見，我們需要一個能夠研究與真正可以使用的遠東圖書館。

我讀到這個消息
開始寫信的時候
已經趕稿趕到眼睛快睜不開了
看到 chocking 這個字
也不覺得有什麼不對勁
因為我當時一直以為是 choking
想說這字用在這裡好猛好傳神啊
不就是我在回留言時經常說的
嘴裡的茶全噴出來了嗎
所以就很開心的完全沒有察覺任何不對勁

瑞典人頭一次最使我chocking的經驗，說來好笑。瑞典人臉部表情冷靜，不輕易嘻笑，女人與年輕的男人有一種獨特的表情就是話語的句尾，輕輕地倒抽一口氣，我一直不明白他們為何老是吃驚，住了大半年以後，慢慢聽出一些對話，越想越狐疑，終於我開口問她們，那樣倒抽一口氣吃驚是為啥？原來這個表情是“肯定”與加強語氣的作用，並不是chocking，真相大白以後，還真使我大吃一驚。

寫完以後察覺自己再一次筆誤，瑞典語的“震驚”名詞原形是chock，指定式字尾+en，而不是+ing〈英語系統〉，動詞“使震驚”原形是chocka，字尾是+de
我視野淺短，還沒看過瑞典人嗆到，飯桌上倒是常有人擤鼻涕，我至今未便開腔：又疑是肯定句。
