短線王前一陣子交易出去了 Kaman，現在籃板缺得兇。在小歐掛掉之後，想說撿來 Jeff Foster (Ind - PF,C) 期望他提供單一數據就好，但後來發現這寶貝還真是被低估了！
從來不以攻擊端聞名的 Foster，在 Jim O’Brien 的系統戰裡，常在罰球線附近作攻擊樞紐，類似 Brad Miller 在 Rick Adelman 時期扮演的角色（見本文封面照片）。Troy Murphy 就更常在外線埋伏、David Harrison 太容易惹犯規麻煩上身(所以忽略他)、而 Ike Diogu 是小歐之後，溜馬僅存擁有底線單打能力的前鋒，但腳筋斷掉後就不太被重用。
Foster 近 9 場的助攻是 3.3，這數字看起來比較像他的進攻籃板，遠遠超過他生涯的 0.8 助攻數。聯盟最會助攻的中鋒當然還是 Brad Miller(3.7)、第二名 Tim Duncan(3.1)。如果 Foster(1.8) 持續發揮至季末，預期他將輕鬆超越東區稱霸的 Andrew Bogut(2.4)。另外，Foster 的助攻失誤比高達 2.22，更是聯盟一線中鋒群所遙不可及的超高比率。
就是因為溜馬的低位威脅受到限制，所以 O’Brien 下了很多 Pick-and-Roll 戰術，在高位負責導傳的 Foster 當然直接受惠。不斷地導球、跑位，成了溜馬的最佳進攻武器，當然也是比賽末段 O’Brien 最常用的進攻模式。

但是溜馬最近手感不佳：對火箭比賽剩4分 27 秒的時候尚領先5分，但後來是投 11 中1、包含5記外線落空。對魔術三節打完僅差4分，但第四節投籃又是冰冷的 23 中 9，三分外線 3-11。溜馬苦吞6連敗，近 20 戰敗了 16 回。
雖然這對溜馬球迷不是好消息，但 Foster 在這2個第四節，倒是爽了5顆進攻板子。
基本上，教頭 Jim O’Brien 現行有2套調整型先發陣容：

【小尺寸陣容 (Rush 先發)】
小前鋒替補：Shawne Williams
得分後衛替補：Marquis Daniels
如果溜馬士氣持續低迷，教頭 O’Brien 或許會開始考慮加強內線攻擊威力，把 Ike Diogu 擲進替補輪值。
溜馬是有防守上的問題，當他們失分破百的時候，戰績是難堪的 10-24。所以溜馬會更加倚重 Foster 的籃板與防守能力。爵士當前也想找個像 Foster 這號的大個來補強禁區，畢竟 Mehmet Okur 委實較缺乏硬漢形象。如果 Foster 真的轉隊到了爵士，我想他的價值應不受影響，尤其他本季已經練就成 Pick-and-Roll 老手了，教頭 Sloan 要丟給他的任務，相信 Foster 將會勝任愉快。

短線王相信每個人都熟知 Foster 籃板機器的好名聲，每場都將有 Double-Double 的威脅。但鮮少玩家知道 Foster 的助攻和抄截是如此的量產，如果你的聯盟有額外競賽「進攻籃板」、「助攻失誤比」，同時又不欠火鍋的話，建議你去把 Foster 給低價買進吧！

You make a solid point about Jeff Foster and his sudden rise in assists, C.C. -- I hadn’t noticed that myself. Anything other than rebounds from a one-dimensional threat like Foster has to be considered gravy ... and lately that gravy has been good enough to spread over some rise-and-shine biscuits. Still, I don’t consider Jeff Foster a buy-low guy; if anything, he’s a sell-high guy. The likelihood of this continuing with any sort of consistency is fairly low for a player who’s averaged 0.8 assists in his nine-year journeyman career. At the end of the day, Foster still shot 62.8 percent from the free-throw line during that span you underscored, along with a mere 0.2 blocked shot a game -- that coming from a man who stands 6 feet, 11 inches. It’s just not enough to make Foster anything other than what he’s always been: a nice, underrated source of rebounds who’s worth a 10-day fantasy contract from time to time. Thankfully, for you and like-minded others, the past nine games have been that time. Enjoy the ride!
