“The End is the Beginning is the End”是電影【守護者】 (Watchmen,2009)的預告片配樂，當初在YouTube上面聽到它的時候就覺得主唱的聲音很耳熟，查了一下才發現是Smashing
Pumpkins的歌（它原來的版本叫做”The Beginning is the End is the
Beginning”，是97年蝙蝠俠系列【蝙蝠俠與羅賓】的電影片尾曲) 相較於原來狂暴電吉他的版本，“The End is the Beginning is
the End”的節拍緩慢且瀰漫著黑暗的氣氛，更貼切歌詞裡末日即將到來的感覺。和【守護者】電影的悲觀基調也相當地吻合。
順便聊一下電影本身好了。我很喜歡它的質感和畫面的處理方式：將動作場面以慢動作拍攝，把爆發力凝聚之後再一口氣宣洩出來真是痛快。故事的設定是1985年平行世界的美國，尼克森連任了，越戰打贏了……變裝英雄們的正當性受到質疑，畢竟如果他們有權力去懲奸除惡，又有誰能來監督他們呢?(“Who watches the watchmen?”)
對於劇情我想網路上已經有夠多的討論，我只想說兩件事：第一，羅夏（Rorschach）真是帥翻了!雖然我不同意他對惡徒以暴制暴的方式，但是他貫徹自己的信念毫不動搖這一點，讓我非常地喜歡這個角色。
第二，我絕對不認同Ozymandias達成世界和平的手段，那是統治階層為自己的利益編織的謊言，相信他的Dr.Manhattan真的是瘋了。
聽到Bob Dylan的”The Times They are a are Changin’”讓我感到很驚喜，以前唸大學的時候因為受到honeypie的影響，聽了不少迪倫的東西，也對美國那段反戰的歷史稍微有些了解；因此之後的”Sound of Silence”響起的時候我一點都不意外（只是Cohen唱的”Hallelujah”被放在那一段實在是讓人很無力……) 。
