比較有影響的傳播理論:

拉斯威爾(Lasswell)的理論
也叫做「五W論」,他說:“描寫什麼”叫做傳播,方便的方法是答覆下列五個W:

Who 誰 傳者研究

Says What 說什麼 內容研究

In Which Channel 經什麼途徑 傳播研究

To Whom 向誰說 受者研究

With What Effect 有什麼效果 效果研究

香農(Shannon)理論
香農是傳播理論的奠基人之一。他認為傳播的過程,是「信源」,即傳者,把要提供的訊息,經過「編碼」,即製成某種符號(語言、文字、圖畫、手勢¼ ¼ )而送出;「信宿」即受者,對這訊息符號經過「譯碼」,即解釋符號,而接受。

如上圖,這裡的X是指我們周圍的信息。A代表信源(傳者),B代表受者,C代表把關人¾ ¾ 在傳播線路上,決定讓那些訊息通過的人。f代表反饋¾ ¾ 指受者對傳者發出信息的反應。

既然〝教學〞是為了促進學習而做的資訊安排,且把一個資訊由訊源傳到

目的地要靠〝傳播〞,而傳播要靠〝媒體〞,當媒體所攜帶的訊息是具有教學

目的時,這些媒體即所謂教學媒體,故媒體在教學上自然扮演著不可或缺的角

色。

根據斯蘭姆(Schramm)採用夏隆-韋弗(Shannon-Weaver)模式為基礎的傳

播模式中,強調只有在訊源與接受者的經驗領域有重疊的共同經驗領域部分,

〝傳播〞才得以完成,因訊息接受者是依他的經驗領域來解碼的。

關於這點,首先,我們要先了解”教學傳播”的問題。

新的學習通常都與新資訊的獲得有關,除非先有好的傳播效果,否則無法達到有效教學,因此對傳播過程的瞭解,將有助於我們有效地運用教學媒體。

第一個傳播過程的模式是由夏農(Claude E.Shannon)所發展的。他和韋佛(Warren Weaver)二人共同研究,發展出一個較廣泛,並可運用來解決其他傳播方面問題的模式。這個模式也可用來分析教學傳播的情境。這個模式如下:

  傳播社會學主要的研究範圍,在於研究傳播與社會間之交互影響性。基於此種認識,分析傳播社會學的基本理論亦從各種理論中顯示其傳播與社會交互關聯的理論基礎為主。
  有關於傳播社會學的基本理論之選擇,是基於以上的觀念而來,像施拉諾和墨特遜(Sereno and Morten Sen, 19970)在其所編之傳播理論之基礎一書中,將有關於傳播社會學有關之傳播理論,歸於「交互作用」(Interaction),如認知不和諧理論(Cognitive Dissonance theory)或平衡理論(Balance theory),傳播說服理論(Communication Persuasion theory)。
  傳播理論中的傳訊理論(Diffusion theory)或是兩級傳播理論(Theory of Two
-step flow)均屬於傳播理論有關於訊息傳播的途徑、方式和有效性的傳播理論。
  傳播之資訊理論(Communication information theory)是較偏向於數理化的傳播理論基礎。由於是計劃式和系統化的傳播體系之設計,以及規劃性的傳播社會發展計劃過程中,傳播之資訊理論亦有相當深入的應用價值。
  守門和守望理論(Gatekeeping and Watchdog theory)在傳播社會學的應用價值,是於將大眾傳播作為社會制度認定過程中發揮重要之影響性。傳播之說服理論(Communication of Persuasion theory)對於傳播社會學研究的重要性,不只是在於傳播效果的發揮,在傳播社會學各種社會行為之研究範疇上,傳播說服理論更具有相當的重要性。
  傳播理論中與傳播社會學發生密切而直接關聯性的理論是偏向於傳播媒介或「新聞」(Journalism)的理論基礎,亦即是傳播之社會責任理論(Social responsibility theory),基於此種傳播之理論基礎,大眾傳播方能在整個社會組織和社會制度型態下,發揮其對社會應有的影響力和應有的功能。
現說明以下四個基本理論:
  一、認知不和諧理論(Cognitive Dissonance theory)或平衡理論(Balance
     theory)
  二、傳播理論中的傳訊理論(Diffusion theory)或是兩級傳播理論(Theory of
     Two-step flow)
  二、 傳播說服理論(Communication Persuasion theory)。
  四、傳播之社會責任理論(Social responsibility theory)

  一、 傳播之認知不和諧理論
  各種傳播社會學研究對於認知不和諧理論(Cognitive dissonance theory)的應用其理論之源均依據斐斯廷吉(Festinger, 1957)所著的認知不和諧理論(A Theory of
Cognitive Dissionance)一書發展而來的。
  斐斯廷吉指出,不和諧產生和存在的情境是,一個人遇到新的事件發生,或得知新的情報,可能與他現存的知識、意見和行為發生瞬息間的不和諧,因為一個人對於周遭環境發生的任何新事件,不能完全圓滿的控制,因此,不和諧就可能容易產生。
  斐氏對這項理論提出了兩項基本假定:
  (一)不和諧的存在是一種心理上的不舒適,將促使一個人試圖減輕不和諧
     ,以達到和諧;
  (二)當不和諧存在時,除了企圖減輕外,一個人將主動地迴避那些可能又
     增加他不和諧的環境和音訊。
  斐氏認為,一個人心理上存在了不和諧後,就會產生減輕或消除不和諧的壓力,其方式之一是增加認識因素(Adding new cognitive element)這是一個人心理有了不和諧,他可能期望主動地尋找可使他減輕不和諧的新情報。而主動尋找新的情報(Seeking information)當作「社會支持」(Social support)的來源以減輕或消除自己內心的不和諧。
