God gave me a wonderful Valentine gift this year -- How important He is to me and how I should learn to love. Though it’s a bit late, I’d like to share it with you and hope it would be a great gift for you too.
"Making the Most of Your Relationship" --> How to Love
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. ~Prov. 18:24
1. Learn to be PATIENT
- A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel. (Prov. 15:18)
- ...be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Eph 4:2)
2. Learn to be KIND
- Anxious hearts are very heavy, but a word of encouragement does wonders! (Prov 12:25)
3. Learn to be CONTENT
- Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. (Rom 15:7)
4. Learn to be HUMBLE
- Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. (Phil 2:3)
- Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Eph 4:2)
5. Learn to CONTROL MY TEMPER
- Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger. (Prov 29:8)
- A rebel shouts in anger; a wise man holds his temper in and cools it. (Prov 29:11)
6. Learn to love truth - Truth is the cornerstone in relationships
- for your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in your truth. (Ps 26:3)
- Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me. (Ps 40:11)
7. Learn to NEVER GIVE UP
- For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus. (Rom 15:4-5)
