離開Fresno之後往優勝美提國家公園的方向前進。沿路的景觀已經讓我們驚喜連連，主要是因為一望無際如沙漠般的丘陵。接近國家公園處出現越來越多的觀景區和觀景台。雖然我們沒有每一處都去體驗，但是這些景區的可及性絕對沒問題。這讓身為景觀師的我甚為感動。在台灣，景觀師喜歡設計高高低低的空間，正是造成障礙的主要原因。

There is a picnic area right after the entrance point. Parking lot, indicator map, picnic tables, restroom, and information center are on the site. After the long driving, I decided to stay in car, my students did all the picture taking and filming. But what my students really like are taking pictures with Americans. Sometimes they just totally forgot they had work to do. I have to constantly remind them what to see and how to do.

從優勝美提國家公園的西邊進入之後就是野餐區。停車場、野餐桌、解說牌、廁所和飲水機就位置在Merdced河的旁邊。這些設施並不特別，但卻絕對是輪椅可及的。

對一個開到美國的遊客而言，開車在公園內並不容易找到心中想去的地方。路上的標示系統似乎有些問題。我們就在公園一再的迷路，最後還是沒有找到遊客中心。

Highway 140 following Merced River, after the Arch Rock Entrance, we took El Portal Road toward Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. On the way we passed through the Bridalveil Fall, Sentinel Beach, visitor parking lot, the Housekeeping Camp, Lower Yosemite Fall Trail, and Camp 4. The same route, we took many times, just couldn’t get to the visitor center.

The public facilities at the picnic area are fully accessible to everyone.

The picnic area is right next to the Merced River. The visitor can just sit back and relax, enjoy their meal and a peaceful moment. If you think a wheelchair visitor can only sit still at one spot, then you are wrong. The wheelchair visitor just like anyone of you, can move freely around this Area without any difficulty.
