愛慕智慧的.使父親喜樂.
與放蕩人結伴的.卻是浪費錢財.
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father,
but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

王藉公平.使國堅定.
索要賄賂.使國傾敗.
The king by judgment eastabllisheth the land,
but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

懈慢人煽惑通城.
智慧人止息眾怒.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare,
but wise men turn away wrath.

智慧人與愚妄人相爭.
或怒或笑.總不能使他止息.
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man,
whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

愚妄人怒氣全發.
智慧人忍氣含怒.
A fool uttereth all his mind,
but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

膽怯的人.欺詐的人在世相遇.
他們的眼目都蒙耶和華光照.
The poor and the deceitful man meet together,
the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.

仗打和責備能增加智慧.
放縱的兒子使母親羞愧.
The rod and reproof give wisdom,
but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

管教你的兒子.他就使你安息.
也必使你心理喜樂.
Correct thy son, and he shall give delight unto thy soul.

你見言語急躁的人嗎?
愚昧人比他更有指望.
Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words?
there is more hope of a fool than of him.

好氣的人挑起爭端.
暴怒的人多多犯罪.
An angry man stirreth up strife,
and a furous man aboundeth in transgreesion.

人的高傲必使他卑下.
心裡謙遜的.必得尊榮.
A man’s pride shall bring him low,
but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

求王恩的人多.
定人事乃在耶和華.
Many seek the ruler’s favour,
but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord.
