Collaborative advancement in the Neverwinter

I’ve never been silent about the fact that I think working for something gives you a greater sense of accomplishment, and guilds will definitely have the chance to feel accomplished when they secure their strongholds. While a zone is given to each guild for free, a keep isn’t just handed to them. Instead, guilds will have to conquer the area and fight off various critters that also want to call the place home. Overmeyer talked about an orc tribe, Many Arrows, that the guilds will have to fend off. Players will be tasked with necessary missions as well, such as scouting, aiding guards, and recovering supplies. An intresting thing to note: As the keep levels up, so too does the difficulty of the tasks and the mobs guilds fight against in the zone. New enemies will appear, including mercenaries, wizards, and even a score of dragons.
This might sound like I would simply get rid of it, or nerf boons, but actually it’s not that simple. I grew into a supporter of giving guilds value and meaning other than social aspects alone. Also don’t forget that the boons are part of the much larger Stronghold system that includes Masterwork Professions, gear progression, and daily tasks. Messing with one aspect means that the other stuff could get affected as well.
You gain the reward of one heroic shard every 20 hours and this particular shard is precious. You will only gain this shard once per day, per character, on your first big HE that completes. This particular shard most often becomes a bottleneck in later guildhall development. So, whenever you can donate one at any level please do so! An excellent strategy is to keep switching your characters to your alts with each Big HE. Then you can collect five or six shards in one big HE run. This is why the alliance will wait for a moment before attacking the big HE, they are giving everyone time to change characters and bring a new one to the fight. Thus, harvesting this precious resource 5X faster.
Basically it's 20v20 PvPvE on a modified stronghold map, with the basic premise being that two guilds are trying to take down each other's guild hall. Sticking with the theme of trying new things, I joined members of my guild's alliance for a stronghold siege for the first time the other day. Apparently this is a feature that has been in game for years, since shortly after strongholds were introduced in fact, but I had never actually tried it.
